By T.T<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n There is no doubt that engaging in political action is a legitimate right for every individual, and that it even constitutes a fundamental pillar in the construction and development of democratic societies. Politics, in its essence, serves the public interest and represents a space for managing state affairs as well as making decisions that influence citizens\u2019 lives. From this perspective, individuals\u2019 involvement in politics is a commendable approach, reflecting a spirit of citizenship and participation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n However, the problem arises when politics becomes a refuge for those lacking competence or knowledge, or when it is presented as an alternative to academic training and intellectual merit. Political responsibilities, particularly those related to the management of sensitive or strategic sectors, require a high level of understanding and expertise, not merely ambition or political maneuvering skills. Ignorance, even when dressed up in slogans, cannot form a basis for making crucial decisions affecting citizens\u2019 interests.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Citizens do not assess political leaders solely on their rhetorical ability or their capacity to win votes, but also on their competence in managing crises and proposing solutions. The trust granted through the ballot box is not a blank check, but a heavy responsibility based on the expectation that the elected official or leader is capable of confronting challenges with rationality and knowledge. It is therefore unacceptable to entrust major responsibilities to individuals who do not possess a minimum understanding of the nature of the state or its higher interests.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Moreover, the fact that some parties present candidates or ministers without degrees, or surrounded by doubts regarding the validity of their qualifications, weakens the credibility of political action and deepens the trust gap between citizens and institutions. University degrees, while not the sole criterion of competence, remain an important indicator of seriousness, discipline, and analytical and reflective capacity.<\/p>\n\n\n\n The real challenge does not lie in excluding those who do not hold degrees, but in ensuring a minimum level of competence and ability among those who assume responsibilities. The state is not managed through improvisation, nor built on slogans, but requires skills combining knowledge, experience, and integrity. Thus, reforming the political landscape involves strengthening selection criteria within parties, establishing a link between responsibility and accountability, and reinforcing a culture that places the public interest above all else.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Ultimately, politics remains a noble field, but its nobility depends on the quality of those who practice it.
