Press release on French President Emmanuel Macron’s state visit to the Kingdom of Morocco

A state visit, preceded by an official letter from French President Macron to His Majesty King Mohammed VI of Morocco, conveys clear and explicit recognition of the Kingdom’s sovereignty over its Sahara.

In response to the issues and events unfolding on the national scene in its international links with diplomatic and political dimensions, the Moroccan Center for Strategic Studies and Research, from the height of its research responsibility, follows with great attention the great role of royal diplomacy in creating the event at the heart of regional and international equations.

His Majesty the King’s approach that relies on historical truth, which covers decades of relations between countries of the size of the Kingdom of Morocco and the French Republic, has been framed with great wisdom and foresight on the part of the leaders of both countries, to the point of placing relations above the insistence of simple media discourse, and thus enabling them to rise above all else to the status of a Catholic relationship through its philosophical perspective, so that the leaders of Morocco and France are greater to fall into the traps of deception.

Beyond the geostrategic reasons lurking behind the closed doors of the African continent concerning the divergences between the decision-makers of the two countries on bilateral, multilateral, regional and other issues, we are well aware of the depth, solidity and durability of these relations, which are rooted in the souls of leaders and peoples before being recorded by history.

The state visit is a victory of logic, wisdom and foresight, which has made it possible to make the voice of the wise heard, to enhance the value and prestige of relations between the Moroccan and French peoples, and to head straight into the future with a high national spirit and historic responsibility, overcoming the shortcomings of a phase through mutual respect and effective partnerships on the economic, financial and commercial fronts.

The Center believes that the return to normal of relations between Morocco and France following recognition of the Moroccan Sahara will accelerate the return of relations with the structures of the European Union to put an end to attempts unfavorable to the interests of the Nations.
