Washington Tells the Truth: The Muslim Brotherhood is Terrorist… and the Funding States Bear Responsibility

Finally, Washington has decided to tell the truth without mincing words: three branches of the Muslim Brotherhood in the Middle East have been designated as terrorist organizations, and sanctions have been imposed on them and their members. This decision is not a mere symbolic gesture, but a powerful blow to an organization that has long hidden behind political and religious masks.

The Muslim Brotherhood has never been a peaceful political movement, contrary to what their supporters claim. It is a transnational terrorist network, based on duplicity, fostering extremism, and exploiting religion to seize power before overthrowing the state.

The danger also lies in the external support they have received from certain states, notably Qatar and Turkey, which have turned money and media platforms into tools to advance the Brotherhood’s agenda and export chaos throughout the region.

No one should think that the Muslim Brotherhood in the Maghreb is an exception. Their branches there follow the same mindset, work to empower foreign interests over the nation, and sow division within Maghrebian societies. The American decision sends a clear message: no immunity, no protection, no media cover will save you from now on.

Imposing sanctions on members and leaders delivers a double blow: first to the Brotherhood itself, and second to their international backers, who rushed to market them as “moderate Islam” in an attempt to divert attention from their direct responsibility in funding political and ideological terrorism.

The media hysteria unleashed by the Brotherhood after the decision is further proof of the strike at the heart of the organization and the exposure of its true nature: an organization that hides behind peaceful rhetoric quickly reveals itself when its financial and political interests are threatened.

The message is clear:
• The Muslim Brotherhood is not part of the solution; it is the root of the problem.
• The states that funded them and provided them platforms will not go unpunished.
• The Maghreb branches are no exception, and all will be held accountable for their role in spreading extremism and destabilizing national and regional stability.

Washington’s decision is not a political choice, but a security and strategic necessity to restore balance in the Middle East and the Maghreb, and to prevent any attempt to legitimize a movement known for violence and deception.
